To finalise your preparation for the UTMB®, it is essential that you know the feeding methods and assistance conditions for the event. This will enable you to better define the types of refreshments you can take advantage of, understand how the authorised assistance works, and plan a change of clothes for the event and after the race.

Refreshment and nutrition on the UTMB

Depending on the race you are registered for, there are a greater or lesser number of refreshment points. It is necessary to know them in advance thanks to the runner's guide but also to distinguish their type according to whether they provide only liquid or also solid food, in order to better plan your breaks and what you take for your personal refreshment. You will find the refreshment points indicated on the geographical map of the course but also by kilometre markers taken from the start of the event. Finally, only runners wearing a number on their chest or stomach, their chip on their backpack and their identification bracelet will be able to access the refreshment areas.

Assistance on the UTMB®

The UTMB® regulations provide for possible assistance on certain events and at certain feed stations. Find out the details of this assistance and how it can be useful to you and how to organise it efficiently and optimally in order to get the most out of it. And don't forget to register the person providing assistance with the race organisation beforehand, as he or she must have assistance tickets to be admitted to each assistance point duly listed as such on the race route.

A change of clothing

Another important point to consider when planning the event and your assistance is to bring a change of clothes. Firstly, of course, for the race, so that you can change at least once during the event and run in perfectly dry and clean clothes. But also for after the race, so that you are comfortable and can recover as well as possible by avoiding a chill after the finish.
