Change of clothes for the UTMB®
Apart from the compulsory clothing stipulated in the regulations and the clothing you plan to wear for the trail, a change of clothing is a point not to be neglected when preparing for the race. In particular, you should have a change of clothes available at the refreshment points and at the assistance points where they are allowed and also at the finish.
A change of clothes for the race
You never know what might happen, although it is unlikely that you will damage your clothes during the race. A fall can still happen and you can end up with a torn t-shirt or shorts. Or you may get so wet that you need to change clothes. Or you may simply have sweated so much that you want to change and start again a little drier. For this, it is the possibility of having assistance that can help you out. Indeed, a person is authorised to join you at certain clearly defined feed and assistance points on each UTMB® event. This person is authorised to carry a 30 litre bag. This volume is more than enough to allow you to slip in a change of clothes and even a spare pair of shoes just in case. This bag can then contain as spare clothes :
- a t-shirt
- underwear
- trail shorts
- trail trousers
- a trail jacket
- a towel to dry yourself
- several pairs of socks
A change of clothes at the finish
It is also a good idea to have a change of clothes in your finish bag or with your friends and family for the end of the race. Once you have arrived, your body cools down and it is important to wash and dry yourself of all traces of sweat and to dress warmly or at least with dry, clean clothes.
