This product re-waterproofs clothing. It treats each fabric fiber while sealing microscopic permeable cracks with elastic waterproof-breathable polymers.
Clothing should be clean before using this product. By washing clothes with Tech Wash, waterproofing will be effective.
Your rainwear can absorb water if it is dirty. First, wash them with Nikwax Tech Wash®, and if they are almost new or have recently been re-waterproofed, the Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatment will be regenerated simply with washing. However, if the garment has been heavily used, you will need to re-waterproof it by using Nikwax TX.Direct® after washing it with Nikwax Tech Wash®.

It is easy and quick to apply in the machine, and its Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatment develops with air drying. The machine application ensures the treatment penetrates the garment, treating seams, taped seams, and cords, as well as the fabric. Also, since it’s not necessary to tumble dry, you save energy and protect more vulnerable and older garments from heat. Nikwax TX.Direct® Wash-In has been specially formulated for waterproof-breathable clothing; it leaves behind a water-repellent treatment on each fiber and allows water vapor to pass through for optimum breathability.

Usage tips for waterproof clothing and accessories:

Use Nikwax Tech Wash with every wash.

After 6-8 washes, re-waterproof your clothes with Nikwax TX-Direct wash-in.

How to use

Nikwax TX.Direct® Wash-In in washing machine:

Remove all non-washable parts and always pre-wash items with Nikwax Tech Wash® laundry detergent in a separate wash cycle. It is not necessary to dry the clothes before waterproofing them.
Remove any trace of detergent from the detergent compartment.
Put the clean garment(s) in the washing machine (maximum 2 garments).
Use 100 ml per garment.
Choose a synthetic cycle at 30° with a slow spin.
To maintain waterproofing, always wash with Nikwax® Tech Wash®. Do not use regular laundry detergents.

Nikwax TX.Direct® Wash-In for hand washing:

Use gloves (To avoid waterproofing your hands !)
Plunge a clean garment in 6L of warm water in a basin or sink.
Add 50ml of TX.Direct®.
Stir and let sit for 5-10 minutes then stir again.
Rinse thoroughly with cold water.
Air dry or tumble dry on low heat if care instructions allow.
