It is important not to neglect any part of your body during your winter outings. That's why we've given you a list of accessories you shouldn't forget before you go skiing!

The essential accessories for skiing

A neck brace

Much more functional than a classic scarf, the choker offers light and stretchy protection, ideal for all outings. Its protection is versatile as it can be worn in several ways: around the neck to avoid draughts, on the head as a headband on milder days, as a balaclava under a helmet on cold days. There is no shortage of choice, with different thicknesses of warmth and multiple patterns to match your ski outfit.

Gloves

The aim is to keep your hands dry and warm. When the temperature drops, the extremities of the body quickly become numb. To prevent your fingers from getting too cold, choose gloves that are specially designed for skiing and that insulate your hands from the cold and are completely waterproof, breathable and windproof. If you wish, there are pairs that are touch screen compatible so you can use your phone without having to uncover your hands.

Socks

When skiing, your feet are under a lot of pressure. To protect your feet we recommend woolen ski socks. As well as protecting your feet from the not always pleasant rubbing in ski boots, they will provide you with a certain amount of comfort and above all will prevent you from getting cold feet.

The cap

80% of the body's heat escapes through the extremities (hands, feet and head) and our system prioritises blood flow to the brain. If the brain is warm, it consumes less energy to keep warm and allows the rest of the body, especially the extremities, to be warm.

Sunglasses

Snowy landscapes are beautiful, but the snow causes a reflection of the sun, very dazzling for your eyes! So much so that it is almost impossible to see on the slopes without eye protection. If you want complete and long-lasting protection, opt for a mask. There are different types of ski goggles to suit different light levels. It is advisable to choose ski goggles with an index of 3 or 4. This will prevent glare from UV rays. And for the après-ski, a pair of sunglasses is recommended to continue protecting your eyes in the mountains.

The backpack

If you are going to ski all day, it is important to have a bag to put everything you need (food, water bottle, sun cream, etc). Make sure your backpack is waterproof and small enough not to get in the way when you go down the mountain.

Après-ski equipment

Among the essentials, we find the après-ski. Although après-skis are generally reserved for walks in the mountains or in the snow, they can also be worn on a daily basis when the temperature is negative. For optimal comfort, the waterproofness of your boots is essential when choosing your après-ski boots. The waterproofing must be optimal for both the upper and the sole to guarantee your comfort and protect your feet from the cold. These shoes must allow you to benefit from perfect ease of movement in the snow, without hindering you in your movements.
