Interview with Massimo
3 words that define you as an athlete?
Determined, Resilient, Climber.
3 values that fit you as a person?
Discreet, Honest, Accurate.
Why do you feel you belong to the Cimalp family?
For now I have only met a small part of the Cimalp family, but the atmosphere is really quiet and genuine as I like it.
Your best and worst mountain memories and why?
Fortunately, I don't have a bad memory in particular, but I probably have the worst memories in the winter of ski mountaineering when you find yourself on some mountain with a strong wind and snow drifts that seem to cut your face. In the area where I live (Valle d'Aosta - Great St Bernard Valley) you often find yourself with these conditions. The best memories are many, but in general every time you can fully experience the mountains, whether it is winter or summer.
How do mountains inspire you?
Mountains provide freedom, that's why I love running, skiing or cycling in the mountains. I live in a mountain village, but I feel I can fully experience nature only when practising sport up in the great outdoors.
What is your relationship to the environment and ecology?
It's a very topical issue to which I pay a lot of attention. I personally try to respect the environment in which I live as much as possible and also among the many skills that characterise my work many are related to environmental protection. Unfortunately, I see too many people neglecting or even worse damaging the mountains and I think each of us should try to make an extra effort to limit our impact as much as possible.
Another great passion/talent besides sport?
I also like exploring new places, if possible, not too crowdy.
