Interview with Sean
3 words that define you as an athlete?
Enduring - Struggling - Resilient
3 values that fit you as a person?
Gathering - Sharing - Listening
Why do you feel you belong to the Cimalp family?
My first contacts with CIMALP began with my first blog articles. The brand wanted me to test some Trail Running products. But a strong relationship soon emerged. I was very surprised by the interest given to my origins, my Irish roots, and I immediately received strong support for each one of my initiatives, especially around the KERRY WAY Ultra Trail for which I am the ambassador. CIMALP is also a company with a team mentality that celebrates each other's successes and continues to push everyone to be the best athlete they can be
Your best and worst mountain memories and why?
- Best memory: Each time I feel tired of the daily grind and seek an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life... Nothing compares to a run or a hike in the mountais.
- Worst memory: No bad memories. There are only lessons learned that make me grow stronger for my future.
What do the mountains inspire you to do?
Trail Running can be physically and mentally exhausting. But when you reach the top, any struggles you may have had along the way fade and make room for a deep sense of accomplishment. It reminds you to take life one piece and a time and celebrate the peaks whenever you can.
What is your relationship to the environment and ecology?
Spending time in the mountains, they grew into a space I care about and want to protect. Their beauty often draws a crowd, and it’s our responsibility to work together and respect them for future generations to enjoy. This respect for the mountains inspires me to adopt more sustainable habits or essentials that don’t harm our planet (and even better, seek to improve it).
Another great passion/talent than sports?
Beer of course, I'm Irish!
