Sabine Ehrstrom
TRAIL RUNNING
Sabine has always loved nature. A very energetic person, she found what she was looking for as a child in the Grenoble cross-country ski club, always going out into the countryside with her family or associations. Her long and winding school career led her to trail running, which became the subject of Sabine's thesis. She returned to the Dauphiné region and settled in Lans en Vercors, where every day she learns more about the science of sport and training. As a specialist trail coach and biomechanics teacher, she provides the best possible support to the athletes she coaches and to STAPS students.

3 words that define you as an athlete?
Natural, Passionate, Team player
3 values that fit you as a person?
Same answer for the above
Why do you feel you belong to the Cimalp family?
It's very confronting to be surrounded by people who share the same values and inspiring to see what they have achieved!
Your best and worst mountain memories and why?
It's too difficult to choose! The best was maybe the first time I went skiing touring in (Pas de la Ville from Gresse-en Vercors), I'd never done such a great sport before! Perhaps the worst was when I took a friend cross-country skiing for 2 days in December on the high plateau, where he really struggles to get up the Erges Canyon. It got dark quicker than anticipated and we couldn't find the hut as it was hidden by snow.
How do mountains inspire you to do?
Peace, rusticity and beauty
What is your relationship to the environment and ecology?
I'm very concerned about ecology, and I do my best on a daily basis to live up to my values, but I am also interested in the political dimension of the issues.
Another great passion/talent besides sports?
I enjoy making people laugh, and I love birds
