Interview with Bastien
3 words that define you as an athlete?
Gamer. Passionate. Thorough.
3 values that fit you as a person?
Benevolence, respect, freedom.
Why do you feel you belong to the Cimalp family?
Because I like to play in the mountains with respect for nature.
What are your best and worst mountain memories and why?
Hard to pick out the best memory. In 2013, I did a ski crossing of the Chablais massif with 2 buddies. We spent 15 hours skiing corridors, climbing peaks and observing animals. An unforgettable day of sharing. At the same time, I went through many difficult moments but they don't leave any bad memories as such. I do have a worse memory though but I doubt it would be publishable, it would unfortunately break the mood too much...
How do mountains inspire you?
A parallel world of exploration, dreams and freedom and a great playground.
What is your relationship to the environment and ecology?
I am particularly sensitive to the ever-changing situation of our environment. Growing up alongside wildlife has encouraged me to preserve it at all costs. Hopefully, others can do the same. In the hope that future generations can enjoy nature like I do.
Another great passion/talent besides sports?
Wildlife.
