TRAIL RUNNING
facebook instagram blog

Doctoral engineer in Materials, Maryline resides in the South of France and is a true outdoor sports and adventure enthusiast. She has been practising trail running for a few years, specializing in long distances, even if she likes to vary the types of terrain to challenge herself sometimes even on short distances.

Her biggest flaw: she doesn't know how to rest which sometimes doesn't please her coach. When she's not running, she's trekking, biking for several days or even cross-country skiing in the winter.

She's not a runner.

Her moto: have fun above all!

Interview with Maryline
3 words that define you as an athlete?
Fun. Discoveries. Exceeding your expectations.
3 values that fit you as a person?
Passion, tolerance, joie de vivre.
Why do you feel you belong to the Cimalp family?
Cimalp isn't just a brand with high-performance, innovative products. It is above all a big family composed of passionate people who love the mountains and nature. Ecology and sustainable development are very important to all our employees. I share all these values, and that's why I'm delighted to have joined the team!
Your best and worst memories in the mountains and why?
The best: an 11-day trek in Nepal solo with several peaks over 5000m. A total immersion, great landscapes, and incredible people, I surpassed myself to orient myself and climb the peaks with my big bag. An adventure that will forever mark my life... The worst part: I don't have one!
What do the mountains inspire you to do?
Freedom, wilderness... the pleasure of climbing peaks on your own!
What is your relationship to the environment and ecology?
Preserving the environment is very important and everyone can contribute to the movement with small, simple gestures on a daily basis. For example, I favour local and seasonal products and I limit non-recyclable packaging. In addition, I make some long trips by bicycle, such as to visit my friends or family. In winter, except in exceptional cases, I never turn on the heating and in summer I never use the air conditioning. Just dress accordingly!
Another great passion/talent than sports?
The piano.
